COVE FIRE - SOUTH LAKE –CA, Friday May 27th 2011 at approximately 12:34 the Kern County Fire Department received several calls for a grass fire north of Hwy 178 in the area of Joughin Ranch, west of Kissack Cove.
The Geographic Information System Specialist (GISS) has now identified the fire perimeter and is confirmed at 1122 acres with containment now at 65 %.

Although weather was cooler with strong gusts of wind throughout the day, crews were still able to continue with firefighting activities to gain the increased containment.
The Incident Management Team would like to thank local residents for their co-operation during the evacuations and road closures which resulted in no associated accidents or injuries.
