Cove fire a couple of miles west of me, Highway 178 closed, BLM bulldozer just arrived, plus a engine probably from Ridgecrest. Extremely windy, 20 foot tall flames, thick smoke, right up at KOA campground and buildings, has come across part of Audubon Preserve, heading southeast.  No worries here yet.

Unknown exactly but the area is under a Wind Advisory with tropical storm force winds and wind gusts although humidity is relatively high and temps are moderate.... if this were High Summer it would be hotter and dryer but not as windy. 

Nothing yet on the KCFD website or FB page.
