[californiadisasters] Re: soft drink bottles used for water

1) generally, the first filling of the bottle, will leach 90% of the leachable stuff. The next filling gets 90% of the remainder, etc...
That first filling sits in the bottle for several months from the soda company, and soda water is far from a benign environment (remember using cola drink to polish rusty chrome) ?

2) when you fill a storage tank from domestic water supply, it's presumed clean already, a dash of bleach is just to help keep it fresh long term, not to purify swamp water.

3) sunlight eventually degrades everything, water is also called the universal solvent. Nothing is absolutely safe.

3 days no water = dead.
