Debby,
No tropical storms (to qualify as such the system MUST have a tropical origin and possess maximum sustained winds of 39-73 m.p.h.) have made landfall along the Pacific Coast of North America north of Orange County (or is it San Diego Co.?).
The reason for this is simple: the waters off California are much too cold year-round as a result of currents and upwelling to sustain a tropcial system much further north even in an El Nino year which was when the storms that did strike far Southern California occurred.
The dates for those events have appeared this past Summer in the On This Date In CA Weather History column I post here daily.
Certainly monstrous extra-tropical storms have slammed the coast of the Pacific Northwest over the years with hurricane-force intensities that would qualify them as Category One and Two storms had they possessed tropical origins and characteristics.

I am just curious if there is any historical data regarding a tropical storm cyclone strength affecting the pacific northwest like the hurricanes do on the east coast?
