The San Bernardino Regulars and AND FS Regulars both Type 2 IA are enroute to
the Indian Gulch incident in near Golden CO

The request for the Type 2 IA to NM was cancelled

Center CA-BDU-002915 Inyo County Fire consumed 850 Acres (SRA DPA) fire is 100 percent% contained. A Few smokes within the burn area were visible as mop up and patrol continued.

Cal Fire incident near the Eastern High Sierra town of Big Pine (Inyo NF / Inyo Co) has "damaged or destroyed" 19 residences. Currently 850 acres and 60% contained. Hwy. 395 was closed for a time but has now reopened. The 1 injury is a Sheriff's Deputy who was injured by wind-blown debris Fri. evening. FS has provided two strike teams of engines (Type 3) and additional misc. resources (~65 personnel). South Ops providing more info on our assistance later today. This was a quickly developing incident in light, somewhat sparse fuels in a lower elevation area of the Owens Valley. By Saturday evening some higher elevation areas not far from the fire were receiving heavy snow.

Center Fire, Inyo County (SRA)

West of Big Pine and US 395 in Inyo County

Center Fire (CA-BDU-002915), a state responsibility fire, started on 3/18/11 at 1518 hours and is burning west and east of the town of Big Pine (22 miles south of Bishop) on Hwy 395.

The fire has burned 850 acres (after helicopter mapping).

The fire is 45 percent contained.

Full containment is expected 03/20/11.

The fire had a rapid rate of spread due to winds.

Nineteen (19) structures have been damaged or destroyed

The structures include 8 mobile homes and 11 residential structures.

Damage assessments are in process in the affected area.

There has been 1 firefighter injury reported.

Mutual aid resources were filled by Cal EMA Region VI.

Local Government Resources were released as of 1200 hrs 03/19/11.

Center Fire, Wildland, Inyo County, Update

DATE/TIME OF EVENT: 03/18/11 at 1518 hours

Hwy 395 near Big Pine Area

2000 plus acres and 0% contained

8 to10 mobile homes and numerous outbuildings are damaged or destroyed.

Evacuation of westside of Big Pine remains in place and the highway is still closed.

Area 230KV and 500KV transmission lines remain threatened.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) canal infrastructure is threatened.

Fire may have a potential impact to the Owens River.

Two Evacuation Centers are set up in the area.

CAL FIRE is in Unified Command with Inyo County Sheriff.
