[californiadisasters] [EDIS] Tornado Warning Continues For Central Butte Co.



AT 645 PM PDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO  INDICATE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TORNADOES. THESE  THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED IN AN AREA ALONG HIGHWAY 99 BETWEEN CHICO AND OROVILLE TO THE EAST OF DURHAM...AND IN AN AREA JUST WEST OF PARADISE. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH.  THESE STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF DISSIPATING AND REFORMING TORNADOES. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... IN ADDITION TO THE TORNADO...THIS STORM IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL AND DESTRUCTIVE STRAIGHT LINE WINDS. &&

Instruction:
 THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF  THE BUILDING IN AN INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES...EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A  SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. IF NO SHELTER IS AVAILABLE... LIE FLAT IN THE  NEAREST DITCH OR OTHER LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.
