"For half an hour one afternoon this old mining town was the liveliest it had been in half a century.
With half a dozen fires burning at the same time in different parts of the old town, Old Shasta was given a shake-up long to be remembered.
It was all due to the high tension power wire of the Northern California Power Co. getting crossed with a light wire somewhere between here and Keswick."
