[Geology2] On This Date In Shasta County Mining History
In 1962: A historic Shasta County mine seriously curtailed its operations and planned to cut its labor force in half by the end of that month.
The Mountain Copper Co. at Iron Mountain was forced to stop mining pyrite, a mineral used in the production of sulfuric acid.
