THE PEAK OF THIS OFFSHORE WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED TO TAKE PLACE  TODAY...WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH IN THE MOUNTAINS OF LOS ANGELES  AND VENTURA COUNTIES...INCLUDING THE SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS...THROUGH  EARLY AFTERNOON. FOR COASTAL AND VALLEY AREAS...GUSTS BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MPH  WILL BE COMMON.    THE OFFSHORE WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO BRING RAPID DRYING...WITH SINGLE DIGIT  HUMIDITIES BECOMING MORE WIDESPREAD THROUGH THE DAY.
