True, except that the rains *have* made it so that this was not an explosive
condition that went to hundreds of acres as we've seen in the past on this
As for the Santa Ana winds: I'm going to go out on a limb here and disagree
with the NWS pros. CA is currently under a moderately strong Jetstream,
which seems to me will block any offshore flow. And a storm system/trough is
building, with the center of the Low having pushed south from the Gulf of
Alaska this afternoon to now west of Oregon.
This system appears to me to be headed straight at CA. However, I *can* see
that if it moves way south and the High we're supposedly under (although
it's disappeared from the maps) moves to the north, that would set us up for
a Santa Ana.
We'll see in the next day or few what will really happen.
