The storms that lashed Orange County left beaches strewn with debris, wiped out trails and bridges in wilderness parks and turned canyon roads into mud soup. The county's estimated price tag for damage: $33.2 million.
Last week's days of rain dropped more than 10 inches on some parts of Orange County; a much shorter but intense downpour added nearly another inch on Wednesday."The amount of water was really surprising," said Ignacio Ochoa, director of engineering for OC Public Works. "It was just too much water too quickly."
