People believe what they want to believe. Occasionally, they are influenced
by actual evidence.
(I'm actually not making a statement about religion here, but about human
nature. Notwithstanding, this particular characteristic of humans applies
also to religion, which gets us into "differing views", which is why we
avoid that and politics here, so we can focus on California Disasters.)
We see a similar phenomenon in behavior. The post right after Dean's reports
on the person swept away to his death by the tsunami. He went to the beach
to look; that was his response to the warning to GET AWAY from the beach!
The fact that it was dangerous seems to have eluded him (we have to assume
that at some point he possibly realized his error, however). The fact that
five people who ignored the warnings were swept out to sea gives us
objective support for the concept of getting away, and of the issuance of
warnings to that effect.
However, there is no lack of documentation from prior tsunamis that there is
a real danger to life, so we really didn't need to see these five swept away
to have proof (nor did they need to find out first-hand).
Nevertheless, the next time a tsunami hits, there will be people going to
the beach to watch even though being warned to get away.
People do what they want to do. Occasionally, they are influenced by actual
evidence.

It´s not May 21st yet, now is it. However the very man they claim will be
back on May 21st told us that ¨of that day and hour no man knows, only the
Father in Heaven.¨
