08/06/2011	1755	HI-HVP Kamoamoa Incident 97 acres, 20% contained. Located 7 miles east of Hawaii Volcanoes NP Headquarters.
08/06/2011	1750	CA-MEU Pass Incident 644 acres, 90% contained. Unified command with MNF.
08/06/2011	0800	No new large fires reported in the GACC overnight (1800-0600)
08/06/2011	0755	On August 6, 2006, pilots Andrei Pantchenko and Terry "Jake" Jacobs were killed when their Type-1 helicopter crashed into the Klamath River at Independence Creek during the Titus Fire, Happy Camp Complex, Klamath NF. 08/06/2011	0755	On August 6, 1945, Marvin Brown, a member of the "Triple Nickels" (the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion), was killed on the Lemon Butte fire in Oregon when he fell from a snag that his chute had become entangled with. The 555 PIB was stationed on the West Coast to combat any fire started by Japanese bomb-carrying balloons. Their mission was not publicized as to not panic the public. During the summer of 1945, the Triple Nickels made more than 1,200 individual jumps; Mr. Brown was their only fatality.
