Avalanche fire is 715 acres with 0 % percent containment and continues to be managed for multiple objectives.  Fire has backed down to the Glacier Point Road from Badger Pass to El Portal overlook. On the south flank fire will continue to back into Indian Creek. The westerly spread is slowing backing towards Chinquapin and the Hwy 41 intersection.

The Lion fire grew 28 acres today and it is a total of 20358 acres. The east side of the fire was not producing visible smoke during the mapping flight.The crews are beginning to pull hose and pumps from the Lion Meadow area. The area above Pecks Creek is producing patchy areas of smoke up high on the ridge and the Soda Butte drainage is producing smoke with an estimate of least 250 acres is burning down today. The south end of the fire is contained, although 2 spots across Alpine Creek that were contained and 100% mopped up during the shift today. The fire is burning to the rocky ridge, a natural barrier, in the Soda Butte area

The Lion incident had 109 acres for the last mapping period, 100 acres on Sequoia Kings National Park and 9 acres on the Sequoia National Forest.
