Re: [californiadisasters] Mass Casualty Passenger Rail (Contra Costa Co.)

Dave,

Feel free to post any pics you took on the group album here.

BTW, that 2004 should have been a 204 but I accidentally hit an extra "0". That 204 was what was being reported last night but apparently that was apparently reduced to the number you gave (190). I'm glad there were no fatalities.

Good "ears" Kim, Amtrack @718 collided with a 'corn' semi and approx 35 pt.'s were transported. I was on scene and did not have my phone with me for updates.

This did occur approx post 1910hrs per on scene officials. East CoCo Co. FD was IC and was in Discovery Bay next to the city of Brentwood. This train came from Antioch and the point of impact was origined south of Knightsen (FYI-commuter train-Altamont Commuter Express, runs just miles south  of this locale-but CalTrain only on SF side of bay area runs south just west of silicon valley area).
Approx 100 pubsafe folks were on scene including CoCoCoSO, CoCoEastCoFire, and AMR as well as CHP and Brentwood PD as many others for this MCI. Approx   less than 190 passengers were on board at that time in bound Stockton.

I am getting a first report of an Amtrak (maybe a Caltrain instead?) colliding with a tractor trailer near Knightsen in Contra Costa County with 30-50 casualties. Any word out there?
