[californiadisasters] Re: Detwiler Incident - MMU - Mariposa Co.

Columbia Air Attack Base is unable to launch tankers due to "weather conditions." I assume that means it is smoked in?

Also, the fire is now up to 45,724 officially with 7% containment. However, an IR flight map from last night places it unofficially at 54,724. Could they have goofed and switched the 4 and 5? Fire is already moving out this morning.

No word on Mt. Bullion but fire is on the ridgeline west of the town of Mariposa and there is one slopover established but it is being handled.

Detwiler Fire changed direction today 90 degrees and its length became its heads from Hwy 140 to north of the Merced River. Fire will soon be into both Mariposa and Mt. Bullion with potential for major loss of structures.

The fire has jumped Hwy 49 to the east (yesterday) and Hwy 140 this morning and is now making a run at the City of Mariposa which is being evacuated en masse and scores of strike teams are being ordered and air tankers are on no-divert with a second VLAT being ordered.
