My best friend who works for UPS was in Mexico City at the time.   He said his hotel's walls fell down and things fell on him, but they made it out okay.   The hotel's staff is giving them coffee and tea outside while they wait it out in the dark.   One of the workers went back in to retrieve his cell phone.   He said they are really trying to calm the people and help them be comfortable.   I asked him how big it felt and he said it felt about the same as the Northridge EQ.   He lived in Northridge at the time, so that's a pretty accurate example.

What an ordeal and story he'll have to tell when he gets back to L.A.... if he can.   He said he's hearing the entire city is a mess.
