[californiadisasters] On This Date In CA Weather History (September 14)



1997: Large swell produced by Hurricane Linda slammed into Orange County.
Five people were swept off a jetty at the Wedge in Newport Beach and were carried 300 yards out to sea before they were rescued by a passing boat.

1971: Inyokern reached 110° for a high while San Luis Obispo topped out at 112° establishing an all-time record high temperature.

1953: The high temperature at Lovelock, NV was 98°.

1929: The high temperature at Portola was 101°.
