Volcano Vista is developing a Student Ambassador program. Invitations are going out all week this week. If you receive an invitation, you need to complete some questions and sign the form along with your parent/guardian. You can then turn in to the 9th Grade office by Friday, September 14 at 3PM.

The Hispanic Leadership Outreach Committee at Sandia National Laboratories is partnering with Kirtland Air Force Base, NNSA Sandia Site Office and NNSA ABQ Complex to sponsor its Annual Youth Art Contest in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th – October 15th). This youth art contest is open to all students. The theme is, "Our People, Our Legacy." For more information stop by the activities office.
CREATIVE WRITING CLUB: Hey, all you writers out there! Do you like to write short stories? Poetry? Rap? Interested in being part of the Slam Poetry Team? How about creative non-fiction? Whatever you like to write, if you like to write, we want you to join us! Creative Writing Club meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month after school in Ms. Valdez's room F210. That's today! We'll meet from 2:30 to 4:00. Come on by and check it out! New members are always welcomed!
ATHLETICS:
- All girls interested in playing softball: there is a meeting during lunch in the gym on Thursday.
- Attention students. All students interested in trying out for the Golf Team this year need to pick up a flyer in the 9th Grade/Athletics office. Tryouts are Sept. 17th, and you must contact Coach Cota before you will be allowed to tryout. All of the information related to tryouts is on the flyer. So if you plan to tryout for the Golf Team, pick up the flyer in the 9th Grade/Athletics office and contact Coach Cota ASAP!!
- The volleyball metro tournament begins on Thursday here at VV.
