Both NorCal Type 2 IMTs (Minton and Johnson) have been committed to incidents.

On 4 July 2014Wakoski's Type 2 IMT is being pre-positioned at the Wildland Fire Training Center, McClellan.

Wakoski's team will be available regionally, for the next incident in northern or southern California.

Ranch Fire, CA-SQF-002142 Kern County

Fire is located South of Red Mountain in the Greenhorn Mountains

10 miles West of Lake Isabella, Kern County

Jurisdiction: FRA

Coopers Type 2 ICT assumed command at 0600 today

150 acres, 0% containment burning in Grass, Brush and Timber. 

The fire activity was minimal through the night

Difficulty of the rugged terrain and planned burnout

operation necessitates use of IHC crews.

500 single residences are threatened

Location: Near Lake Isabella
Jurisdiction: FRA
150 acres, 0% containment
Cooper Type 2 ICT mobilized and inbriefed today at 1200.
Moderate rate of spread with some creeping.
As of 1500 no change in conditions.
Ceased retardant operations, continue with water drops.

National Preparedness level has increased to Level 2.

Cooper ICT Type 2 team has been mobilized to Ranch Fire CA-SQF-002142

Will inbrief at 1200 today.

Location: Near Lake Isabella

Jurisdiction: FRA

Approximately 80 acres, timber and brush

Fire is well established in canyon.

Slow rate of spread.

Evacuated a few cabins last night in Alta Sierra.
