Date | Time | News and Notes |
10/05/2010 | 0705 | Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 37 fires for 167 acres reported in the Daily Situation Report, ( there may be a 24-hour delay in reporting on the SIT report). Numerous lightning strikes were recorded in the GACC in the last few days almost all administrative units have received lightning; rain amounts are variable with this lightning activity, with some RAWS stations reporting over an inch of rain and others less than 1/10 of an inch. The majority of the lighting and rain occured on the east side of the GACC. A few small fires have been reported from this lighting activity. A low pressure trough moving into the North Ops region will stall and form a cutoff low over Central California Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday the low will weaken and move northeastward through Nevada. Showers and thunderstorms are possible mainly over the southern and eastern portions of the North Ops region through Wednesday, then in eastern areas Thursday as the low exits. A warming and drying trend is expected Friday through Sunday, with a possibility of another trough moving into the area next Monday. |
