10/17/10 | 0746 | Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 17 fires for 1 acre reported in the Daily Situation Report, (there may be a 24-hour delay in reporting on the SIT report). There is one non-reportable large fire burning in the GACC: A 300-400 acre fire is burning near Kolekole Pass in Hawaii on lands administered by the US Army. On Sunday rain chances will increase as the offshore low pressure trough approaches the coast. Sunday night, as a cutoff low develops within the trough and moves toward the Central coast, offshore flow will develop in northern areas as the Bay Area and southern ends of the Sacramento Valley, Northern Sierra, and East Side see shower chances continuing. From Monday through Wednesday the North Ops region will be under a warming and drying trend as high pressure builds overhead. |
