RE: [californiadisasters] Incident in Westchester : Belford Avenue and Airpor...

NASCAR drivers allow rubs, drafting and other contact as part of the sport.  Police do not.

I’d rather have a well trained officer perform the chase than an untrained driver (recruit from NASCAR?  That would be interesting).

Cops that shoot through the windshield (against policy everywhere) are soon on the unemployment line.

Part of the training involves the expectation and understanding of adrenaline reactions, it’s effects and the tunnel vision it creates.  Cops do not ‘enjoy’ a high speed chase any more than they enjoy ‘drawing down’ on a perp.  It’s a deadly serious part of the job and experience helps a LOT.

NASCAR guys are pretty well trained but they aren't driving on a LA City Street.

Sorry but a cop doing 100 on a city street is not that much better than a scumbag doing it.

Cops TRAINED cops have fired sidearms through their windshields in pursuits.

Adrenaline and endorphins are drugs you just don't need a dealer or lab.
