Notes:		Just after 10 PM this night in 1953 a 24-man volunteer fire crew fighting an arson-caused fire on the Mendocino National Forest became entrapped in a blow-up situation in Grindstone Canyon and 15 of them were burned to death. Killer was a USFS ranger and 14 of his charges, Native American volunteer firefighters.
