RE: [californiadisasters] South Ops News & Notes Update (08/16/11-8PM)



Because it isn’t drawing in resources and is a ‘managed’ fire started by lightning would be the most logical guess.  It was a naturally caused VMP burn and has taken several days to get this large.  As wet as things still are in much of the state, I’d be surprised if it was a ‘clean’ burn; only the grasses are full cured.

Oddly enough, the Avalanche Fire has yet to appear on the national report.
