Re: [Geology2] El Hierro Earthquake Count Exceeds 4200

LOL Vic... and yes, Lynne, this one worries me, too. I have a sister sitting in Portland, Maine right now about to dodge a hurricane, but as she lives on the coast, a tsunami would be the ultimate in disasters... especially a 100 meter tall tsunami. And no matter how much I tell her that this could happen, she's nice about it, but she still blows it off.

Lin, I was going to send you a note that the 3.5 quake Monday upset the islanders who flooded 911 with calls in alarm.

Yeah right, what is the government going to do?

I did quietly note to self that it was clearly part of a swarm and these seismic events may be building to a possible eruption.

Your chart made it clear very small tremors were now building in frequency.

This is an area where a large landslide triggered by an eruption or big quake could potentially produce a Tsunami reaching across the Atlantic.

Note to self, sell  property on Hilton Head Island ASAP ;>)
