Vince,
It is a wee bit ironic these quakes happened to get people in the Bay Area thinking just a bit more than they might have with only the Shakeout happening today.
It is fine to discuss such things here on the main list while things are so quiet (that may change next week with a Diablo Wind Event in your neck of the woods) and that is topical for the group so have at it. In busy times or if this thread got extended a bit then we would ask to move it over to the discussion list which still exists. There is a link to it near the bottom of this group's home page or try this link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/californiadisasters_discussion/

(I thought there was a discussion group, but I can't find it.. Mod, move it if need be.. but I thought this was as good a place as any...)
So earlier today, I was sitting at my desk when "rumble" and it passed through the house.. I asked my wife if she felt that.. yep.. check usgs.. 4.2 initial.. Hayward fault.. check again, downgrade to 3.9.. and check again, upgrade to 4.0.. and now just a few minutes ago.. I felt that same rumble through the house.. "What? Again?!?".. yep.. 4.2 initial, though this one felt bigger than the last.. thankfully nothing dropped on my head.. and this, the day of "The Great California Shakeout".. how DID they know? Not really a disaster per se... but all the same.. if it were much worse.. it sure could be.. I'm 8 miles away from the epicenter.. I wonder what it felt like in Berkeley..
