Seniors: It is time to choose your class song, motto, and flower. Stop by the Activities Office this week during lunch and place your nomination.
Anyone who would like to purchase a powderpuff team photo stop by Activities at lunch to place your order. Pictures are $1.00 for an 8 x 12 photo.
The New Mexico College Fair at the Convention Center is this Sunday, October 16. There are 115 colleges and universities registered, and the representatives are eager to talk to all NM students and their families, from 12 noon – 3 PM. Students of all grades plan on attend this terrific, free event. If you need more information please contact your Academy counselor or Mrs. Futey in E224.

Seniors you need to have your senior photo taken at Lifetouch Studios by October 24th to appear in the 2012 edition of the yearbook. Call 896-5570 for an appointment.
Café Italia will be held in the Performing Arts Center lobby this evening from 6 to 9. The cost is $8.00 per person. Come out and support our choir.
National Honor Society: We will be meeting on Monday, October 17th. This is a mandatory meeting and you must sign-in. Juniors should meet in Room H209 with Ms. Torres. Seniors should meet in Mrs Jones' room, E203. This is a change from our previous meeting locations. We will be discussing our fundraisers and community service projects. Also, remember that the semester is now half over. If you still need to sign-up for tutoring hours,stop by Room E203. The available dates and locations are posted outside theroom. Attention all Club Presidents and Athletic Team Captains there will be a meeting on Tuesday, October18th in E204 to discuss a school wide community service project.
There will be a BSU meeting today at lunch in room F 204. All are welcome to attend and we will be discussing Upcoming events, and applying for scholarships. Please be at the meeting by 11:15.
There is a key club/wing squad meeting next Friday, the 21st during lunch in Mr. Brown's Room F111. All students are welcome to aattend.
The bowling team has started practices for the up-coming bowling season. Practices continue Friday at 4:00 pm at Tenpins and More. If you are interested but can't get out please contact Major Campbell who will pass your information on to coach Hampel.
Athletics:
- Wrestling pre-season will be Monday thru Thursday 3 to 4 in the afternoon in the Wrestling room. Come be a part of the championship Hawk Wrestling team. Formore information contact Mikey Lovato.
- Attention all VVHS student athletes interested in being a part of the Swim Team at VVHS – there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 19 at Lunch inroom A109. Please plan to attend to get information about the upcoming swim season.
- Volleyball has a game at Cleveland today at 6:30.
