"Giant" is relative, of course. In D&D 3rd Edition, this wouldn't even
be a Fine category size creature.
The oxygen content millions of years ago would have promoted larger
insect size, possibly up to 2-feet across, but there is an upper limit
for an exoskeleton-based creature with Earth's level of gravity.
