CA-MDF Antelope Fire. 650 acres. 66% contained. Isolated tree torching within unburned islands. Some smoldering near the fire line and within unburned islands. Smoldering within interior islands and along fire line is decreasing with effective control efforts and time. Significant progress today on extending containment lines and mop-up. Hose lines are in place surrounding the fire. Much needed crews arrived and are making good progress. Type 3 helicopter is being used for mapping and suppression as needed. F & C Reservoir campgrounds and all forest roads reopened today for public use.

CA-KNF Fort Complex Fire. 8,883 acres. 37% contained. Goff Fire - Mainly backing fire accelerated by rollout. On north side some uphill runs in brush and timber fuels with torching. In the Portuges Drainage there were some uphill runs late in the afternoon with some spotting across the containment lines near H-13.

CA-NOD Rush Fire. 320,793 acres. 65% contained. Crews in the northeastern flank will continue to secure and mop up where containment lines have been constructed and continue to construct direct and indirect line, burning as needed. The remaining divisions are in patrol status. Suppression repair will continue on the southern flank of the fire where safe.

CA-SHF Bagley Fire. 12,000 acres. 7% contained. Fire spreads steadily in all directions continuing to burn high-value private timber and National Forest lands. East Flank burns toward Iron Canyon Creek, Oak Mtn. & nears the Initial Creek/Iron Mtn. Creek confluence. South Flank backs further into Modin, Garden & Jackass Creeks. West Flank moves over North Fork Peak & W still threatening to cross into North Fork Squaw Ck. NorthWest Flank backs further into Horse & Spring Creek, burns further up Fish Creek and crosses Squaw Creek into the West Fork. Portions of North Flank will hold within containment lines along Gap Creek.

CA-MNF North Pass Fire. 21,558 acres. 18% contained. Aggressive fire behavior with crown fire runs and short/intermediate range spotting. Closures and Evacuations in effect for the following areas: Indian Dick Road (USFS Road M1), all residences in the Indian Dick Road (USFS Rd M1), Mendocino Pass Rd (FH7) North to the Trinity County line and East to the Tehama County line. This order also includes all residences and USFS campsites at Howard Lake Campground, Little Doe Campground, and Hammerhorn Lake Campground and all USFS Wilderness Trailheads at Blands Cove, Hell Hole, Stick Lake, Foster Glade, Asa Bean, Rock Cabin, Georges Valley, Soldier Ridge, Smokehouse Ridge, and Green Springs. Blands Cove Road from the start of the Traveler's Home Trail Head, North to the Trinity County line. Mendocino Pass Road, (FH7) North and South of the highway from the Eel River work center East to the Tehama/Glenn County line, including Bauer Ranch subdivision and Forest Service campgrounds. Forest Highway 7 is a primary route between Willows (Sacramento Valley) and the inland communities of Covelo and Round Valley. Forest Closure Order for the northern two-thirds of the Covelo Ranger District.

CA-PNF Chips Fire. 64,214 acres. 55% contained. The fire exhibited resistance to control today. Several spot fires remain uncontrolled and resources were challenged in Divisions V/W/ and X. The largest spot fire is 100+ acres in Division G.

CA-TGU Ponderosa Fire. 28,098 acres. 71% contained. The fire continued to burnout interior islands with isolated torching. No significant or moderate fire behavior was observed during this operational (209 reporting) period.

CA-TGU Ponderosa Fire. 28,098 acres. 68% contained. Interior burning continues. Weakened trees throughout the burn area continue to pose a hazard. A significant demobilization of resources is planned to begin Saturday, August 25.

CA-PNF Chips Fire. 63,160 acres. 555 contained. Moderate fire behavior with short range spotting was observed.  A one acre spot fire was detected. The mandatory evacuation of Canyon Dam, Big Meadows and Prattville has been lowered to an advisement.

CA-MNF North Pass Fire. 20,775 acres. 18% contained.  The fire continues to display aggressive burning with crown runs and intermediate range spotting.

CA-SHF Bagley Fire. 11,083 acres. 5% contained. Active fire behavior was observed overnight. Burnout operations on the N flank of the fire are holding.

CA-NOD Rush Fire. 320,793 acres. 64% contained. The NE flank experienced the most active fire behavior on 8/23. Other sections of the fire displayed minimal fire activity.

CA-KNF Fort Complex Fire. 6,683 acres. 37% contained. Good progress around the fire as resources and favorable weather arrive. Some isolated torching with rollout of burning material and short uphill runs was observed.

CA-MDF Antelope Fire. 650 acres. 25% contained. Moderate fire behavior, including isolated torching, creeping  and smoldering, was observed overnight. The fire is burning very unevenly in lava rock, with many unburned islands.
