High winds and temperatures in the 90s bring fire danger for parts of Southern California.

As Santa Ana winds bring above-average temperatures and dry weather to Southern California, the region is bracing for the possibility of wildfire as well.Fire warnings, called red flag alerts by the National Weather Service, have been issued for the mountain areas of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
The alerts will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, when the winds are expected to kick up, and end at 4 p.m. Monday, the weather service said.
Fire is possible because the high winds, warm air and "critically dry" local vegetation provide a dangerously combustible mix of conditions.
The winds will bring higher-than-normal temperatures to much of the region.
In Burbank on Sunday, the high was expected to hit 90 degrees, dropping to 58 degrees overnight. A high of 82 degrees forecast for the high desert would break the record of 80 degrees set on Nov. 4, 1985.
In Santa Ana, the high on Sunday was expected to hit 88 degrees. A red flag warning for Orange County was issued on Saturday.
