1951: The high in Las Vegas, NV, reaches 109° F, setting a May record.
1968: It was 101° F at Santa Barbara setting a record high for May.
1964: Hail to 1" in diameter caused minor property damage in the Reno area.
1953: Fresno set a record low of 40° F , lowest so late in the season.
River bottom areas nearby had light frost as well as Tarpey Village.
1951: It was a remarkable scorcher in the desert: 115° F in Thermal, 114° in Palm Springs, 113° F in Indio, and 103° F in Victorville.
1946: Pinnacles National Monument recorded 0.37" of rain.
