'Space junk' causes streak of green light above SoCal, Griffith Observatory says

LOS ANGELES (KABC) --
A streak of bright green light appeared above Southern California on Tuesday.According to the Griffith Observatory, the flash of light was caused by "space junk," possibly something in orbit that was coming back down to Earth.
Scientists told ABC7 they spotted the debris with their telescopes at the Griffith Observatory.
The Griffith Observatory said it was not uncommon for this to occur.
