I doubt that there are many traffic cams. There just isn’t a lot of traffic there (although it is growing quickly, alas). Much of the local population isn’t high on the income list (the state dumps a lot of parolees there for some reason). Don’t forget the plentiful casinos scattered around too (one is on Hwy 16 which ties into Hwy 20 and is gorgeous this time of year).
You might also want to look at Sutter Buttes (fair sized spiky hills in the middle of the valley about 60 miles north of
Tahoe is easy, plenty of cameras there, in and out of the forest. Desolation wilderness not so much.
The south state may be a problem, as well as some of the north state (Big Bar on Hwy 299, Burney, Lassen). Just not enough technology there (which isn’t a BAD thing, one can still escape for a time).

Rick, I'm just using all the cams in forested areas and known-to-burn areas. lol-no precognition involved. What I hope is to have enough areas that when a fire breaks, one can simply check the nearest located cam. And, if I don't have a cam for that area, I'll find one and add it. I'm relentless in my search for particular cams. Sigh... just wish I could find one near Clearlake or The Geysers. I've spent hours looking, but nada.
