Re: [californiadisasters] Thank goodness for this group.

The fundamental problem with conspiracy theories is that they're impossible
to prove--and impossible to disprove.

What's a known fact is that many people hold to their beliefs without being
hindered by facts.

A line or two from Sherlock Holmes:

1. "It's dangerous to form an opinion before all the evidence is known,
because your biases then blind you to some of the evidence."

2. Replying to Dr. Watson's comment that the woman seemed quite sincere and
innocent: "Really? I hadn't noticed. My dear Watson, the most charming and
convincing woman I've ever met had just murdered her children."

And from Sgt. Joe Friday: "Just the facts."

Yes, yes, I know that if we all take these ideas to heart the traffic on
this group will slack off. However, the quality will be better.
