Two earthquakes gave parts of Southern California a shake Tuesday night, but there were no immediate reports of serious damage or injuries.

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake -- followed immediately by a 2.2 quake -- hit around Yorba Linda at 11:23 p.m.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it was doing a survey of damage but that none was immediately reported. The Orange County Fire Authority said it was also surveying for damage but said on Twitter that so far there were "no major reports."

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the temblor struck 29 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

The USGS's "Did You Feel It?" feature included responses from as far away as Thousand Oaks and Santa Clarita.
