Does slag look like this? I have seen some examples of slag and it was formless. Allison

Jeff,

Is it from an area where there has been any metal smelting? If so, it is likely a slag or speiss. Most of the meteorite candidates brought to me for identification turn out to be artifacts of local industry from the previous century.
