Effective at 0500 this morning, the National Coordination Center has moved to Preparedness Level 5.

CA-BTU Swedes Fire: 2,139 acres, 75% contained. Estimated containment 8/22/2013. CAL FIRE Team 1, Zombro. All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted. Firefighters will continue to improve existing control lines to keep the fire east of Oro Bangor Highway, north of Swedes Flat Road, west of Hurleton Swedes Flat Road and south of Forbestown Road.

CA-TNF American Fire: 14,990 acres; 54% contained. Expected containment 9/1/2013. CIMT4, Opliger. Indirect handline continues to be constructed and prep for burning. Mop and patrol continues along Deadwood Road and Foresthill Drive Roads south to the existing dozer line. A public meeting was held at Foresthill Monday evening and attended by 200+ people. A planned meeting is scheduled this morning with the Board of Supervisors.

CA-SRF Butler Fire: 18,361 acres, 30% contained. Expected containment 9/15/2013. Quisenberry, NIMO. An inversion settled in to the drainage bottoms at sunset, minimizing fire behavior. Ridge tops remained clear and fire behavior was active for the first half of last night's operational shift. A dry unstable air mass is over the fire area and increased fire behavior is predicted today.

CA-Salmon River Complex: 14,171 acres, 85% contained. Expected containment 8/21/2013. SOCAL Team 3, Wakoski assumed command at 0600 hours this morning. Fire is creeping and smoldering in heavy fuels. Mop up and patrol continues. Evacuation advisory for the area is still in effect.

CA-SRF Corral Complex: 5,523 acres, 0% containment. Expected containment 10/1/2013. CIMT 5, Joseph. Smoke conditions have limited the time and location where aircraft can be used. Fire is spreading to the west and smoke continues to impact the Hoopa Valley area. Potential fire spread to the west may impact the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and the community of Denny.

CA-SHU Burney LCA: 190 acres, 0% contained. Expected containment 8/21/2013. Lowe, Type2 IC. Fire is located near Fall River Mills. Torching with mid-range spotting occurred during the evening operational period. Handcrews can only be used in certain areas due to the PG&E pipeline running through the fire area. Direct line construction continues.

CA-PNF Hough Complex: 180 acres, 40% contained. Expected containment 8/24/2013. CCIMT, Nunez assumed command at 0600 hours this morning. Extreme fire behavior occurred last evening due to thunderstorm activity. Evacuations are in effect for the Taylorsville area.
