The joys of hand flying a commercial aircraft. These guys were doing a wonderful job of flying the beast at the low end of it's service parameters and maintained a calm and cool demeanor in spite of all the alarms going off. That's really understanding your aircraft!

I knew about the annoying voices; altitude, landing gear etc. It's because they are "low and slow" and the plane thinks the pilot is attempting a landing and making mistakes. Where's the shaddup button? :-) It is distracting and ignoring it now means it will be less effective later because the pilot will be used to ignoring it.
You'll note the lead plane in one video asks the MAFFs to slow down but the pilot says he's already down to 150 (knots) which is pretty slow for that bird.

CDF person said that if the wind was right it could burn all the to Pinecrest on this side of the fire; on the eastside all the way to Nevada thru Yosemite it is already in the park on the northern border. We have been thru this in 1987 with the Complex fire which was only half has big as the Rim fire.
