08/26/2013 | 1830 | CA-TNF American Fire: 24,684 acres, 83% contained. Expected containment: 08/30/2013. Opliger, CA IMT1. Windier conditions were found on the western side of the fire. Active smoldering across the northern flank of fire. Western flank has active backing and flanking fire with significant amounts of smoldering fuels. The established fire along the 43 road is still actively backing down into Deep Canyon which continues to support control objectives. CA-SRF Corral Complex: 11,732 acres, 5% contained. Expected containment 10/1/2013. Joseph, CA IMT1. Creeping and backing fire was observed in the heavier ground fuels, with occasional isolated tree torching. There was minimal fire spread. 1.5 miles of direct containment line was completed on the northern portion of the fire. CA-TGU Deer:10,378 acres, 70% contained. Expected containment 8/29/2013. Cone, CAL FIRE Team 2. Spot fires continued to challenge fire suppression efforts in the Mill Creek drainage. Direct handline is secure on the south and east sides of the fire through the Ishi Wilderness Area. Handline continued to be improved along the Lassen Trail and into the Mill Creek drainage. Continue to improve handline along the Lassen Trail and Mill Creek drainage. Mop up will continue on the west and north sides of the incident to provide black line depth to reduce the threat of spots across containment lines. CA-SRF Butler Fire: 21,118 acres, 45% contained. Expected containment: 09/15/2013. Quesinberry, NIMO. High relative humidity kept the fire limited to smoldering in heavy interior fuels. Very steep rugged terrain with snags and rolling material in hard to access areas continue to hamper the ability to construct direct and indirect fire line. Narrow winding roads pose a hazard to resources accessing and egressing the fire. CA-KNF Salmon River Complex: 14,771 acres, 95% contained. Expected containment 08/28/2013. Quesinberry, NIMO. Backing surface fire with smoldering and creeping was observed as fire backed down Jackass Gulch. The Salmon Complex is now being managed under the Forks Complex. Evacuation advisory along the north side of the 1C01 (Sawyers Bar Road) including the community of Sawyers Bar and the Whites Gulch, Idlewild, and Mule Bridge campgrounds is in effect with mitigation measures in place, such as sprinkler systems and fire line pumps and hoses. CA-PNF Hough Complex: 513 acres, 100% contained. Nunez, IMT2 Central Coast. Moderate winds have tested fire lines throughout the day. Crews were able to maintain containment on all fires. Crews have worked hard to mop-up 300 feet in on all accessible fire lines in preparation for transition to local resources. A local type 3 organization is shadowing today in anticipation to transition command of this incident tomorrow 0600 hrs. No movement is expected beyond containment lines. Minimal threat remains to Taylorsville and surrounding communities. |
