CA-BTU Swedes: 1,995 acres, 45% contained. Estimated containment: 08/21/2013. CAL FIRE Team 1, Zombro. Terrain driven winds allowed for rapid rates of spread in all directions after inversion lift. Single tree torching with spotting to 1/4 mile observed. Limited access with steep terrain, narrow roads, immediate threat and evacuations in the Hurleton area. Expected down slope winds this evening could impact the west and north flanks of the fire hitting decision points for additional evacuations in the Kelly Ridge, Wyandotte communities.

CA-TNF American Fire: 13,730 acres, 49% contained. Estimated containment: 08/28/2013. Central Coast Team, Nunez. Moderate to extreme fire behavior was observed around the fire. Extremely dry fuel bed and steep slopes are contributing to control difficulty. Short range spotting is influencing rates of spread. Recommended Voluntary Evacuation was issued at 1400 hours today for Big Oak Flat. Closures for the Duncan Peak Lookout and Robinson Camp are in effect. The fire experienced thunderstorms this afternoon. The fire area remains under an NWS Fire Weather Watch.

CA-KNF Salmon River Complex: 14,171 acres, 85% contained.  Estimated containment: 08/28/2013. California IMT Team 1, McGowan. Active backing with isolated single tree torching and roll out. Planned actions include; mop up, patrol, and hold handlines. Structure defense will continue around the community of Sawyers Bar, including daily sprinkler system maintenance and testing. Continue burning out on Tanners Peak Ridge.

CA-SRF Butler Fire: 15,900 acres, 25% contained. Quesinberry, NIMO. Estimated containment: 09/15/2013. Increased fire activity during last half of operational period resulted in active flanking and forward spread up to 1/4 mile. Voluntary evacuation remains in effect for isolated residences near the community of Forks of Salmon. The Salmon River Road remains closed to public use in the fire area. Expansion of the structure defense corridor is being moved south as needed along the Hwy 93 corridor and areas in and around Knownothing Creek drainage.

CA-SRF Corral Complex: 4,450 acres, 0% contained  Expected containment:  10/01/2013. Garwood, IMT2 SOCAL 2.Snags, remote wilderness location and fire spotting up to 1/8 of a mile.  In brief with Joseph, CIIMT 5 occured today at ICP.

CA-LNU Double Fire: 70 acres, 100% contained.

CA-BTU Swedes: 1,850 acres, 20% contained. CAL FIRE Team 1, Zombro. Fire is burning north and east in oak/grass woodland with areas of heavy brush, moderate to steep terrain with limited access.  Potential to grow to 2500-3000 acres.  Immediate threat to approximately 300+ structures the community of Hurleton and approximately 1000-1200 residents, with threat to water shed and PG&E power grid.

CA-TNF American Fire: 12,950 acres, 45% contained. Estimated containment: 08/28/2013. Central Coast Team, Nunez. The potential for fire growth is high due to heavy fuels and steep slopes up to 150 percent.  Fire behavior has moderate to extreme.  Within timber plantations fire behavior has been moderate.  When topography and fuels align fire behavior has been extreme.  Fire activity was moderate overnight.  The fire continues to burn in steep and hazardous terrain, as well as timber fuels that have not burned in several decades.  Consumption of heavy fuels continues to contribute to the heavy some in the surrounding areas.

CA-KNF Salmon River Complex: 13,002 acres, 80% contained.  California IMT Team 1, McGowan. Estimated containment: 08/19/2013.
The fire will continue to back into the east side of Jackass Gulch and continued consumption of unburned interior fuels will occur throughout the fire area.

CA-SRF Butler Fire: 15,878 acres, 25% contained. Quesinberry, NIMO. Estimated containment: 09/15/2013. Increased fire activity during last half of operational period resulting in active flanking and forward spread up to ¼ mile.
