WE WANT YOUR…Doodles? That's right students! We want your doodles, mindless scribbles, and daydreamed masterpieces to appear in the 2014 edition of our yearbook, "The Hawk". These student drawings will appear throughout the book with your name and grade. We want to publish all of them… so let's keep them clean! You have until the end of October to doodle your doodles, so don't use class time. Stop by and see Mrs. Horowitz in the Library to submit your work of art for the 2014 Hawk today!
Class Rings will be for sale during lunch today and Wednesday outside of the activities office and Tuesday evening at 6pm at the main entrance of the school.

Best Buddies will be meeting in Room E102 during lunch on Friday. Best Buddies is a group that helps connect students in special education with students in general education. It's a great opportunity to meet new friends and make a difference in people's lives. Everyone is welcome!
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS: Our first meeting of the year will be held on Monday, August 19th, during lunch. We will meet in Room E214, Mrs. Green's science classrooom. All members, Juniors and Seniors, should report to E214. We will discuss plans for the year, and go over requirements for earning and NHS letter. See you Monday at lunch!
There is a Spanish National Honor Society meeting on Thursday, August 22, in Senora Figueroa's room E112 at lunch. Bring your calendars. Gracias.
DODGEBALL: Attention Faculty/Staff and Students, VVHS will start up its seasonal challenges with Faculty/Staff and Students August 26-30. The first challenge will be dodge ball. The matches will take place at lunch each day during the week of August 26-30. Teams are guaranteed 3 days of play with championship play occurring Thursday, August 29, and the championship game taking place on Friday, August 30 during the assembly. So get your teams of 4 - 6 together which can be students, staff or a mix of both. The cost is $1 per person to sign up. Sign up in the activities office at lunch.
STUDENT AMBASSADORS: Attention Student and Faculty Ambassadors. We will have our first group meeting of the year on Friday, August 23 in the Lecture Hall during lunch. We need to discuss our plans for the year and get ready for the first assembly. Lunch will be served.
ART CLUB: If you're interested in building a more beautiful, creative world, join the VVHS National Art Honor Society, or what we call, the VVHS Art Club. We meet every Tuesday in G113 during lunch. Come and join the fun. First meeting will be Tuesday, August 20th in G113, during lunch.
COUNSELING
- If you need to see your counselor because you took a course in summer school, have taken a course via correspondence, are taking a CEC course, or are taking a CNM dual credit course and need to correct your schedule, you will need to see your academy counselor before Monday August 26th. This is the last day to make any schedule corrections.
- If you need to make up credit from a class you previously have failed, or are in need of improving the grade of a previous class, sign up for ECademy. ECademy registration is open until Thursday August 22nd. Make an appointment to see you Counselor. You need to Bring $25 Cash only to your Academy counselor and they will assist you with the rest.
LOCKERS: If you have not gotten a locker yet please do so by lunch today. If you would like to move to another hallway we will do this in the Activities Office beginning Wednesday at lunch.
Parking Passes will be sold in the activities office this week before school and during lunch. Please do not come down during class time.
Attention Teachers: Anyone who is doing a Dossier or Opal License this year can come to our Dossier Group meeting Wednesday at lunch in Mrs. Wells room A202. Please email Mrs. Wells with any questions.
ATHLETICS
- There will be a Golf Team Meeting for any students interested in trying out for the Golf Team this Fall. The meeting will today during Lunch in Coach Cota's room in A-204. Information about tryouts will be provided at the meeting.
- TALON'S: We have tryouts for all incoming freshman who would like to be apart of the Volcano Vista Talons dance team. Tryouts are Tuesday the 20th, Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd fro. 3-5 in the dance room!! There is also a Freshman Open Technique class on Saturday the 17th from 10-12 in the dance room.
