| 09/10/2013 | 0715 | CA-SHU Clover Fire: 7,400 acres, 40% containment. Stinson, ICT3. Largely wind driven fire with medium to long range spotting. Pyro cumulus observed over the fire. With continued north northeast winds, high temperatures, low humidities and in accessible areas crews are having difficulty containing the fire. Communities of Igo, Ono, Anderson, Happy Valley and Cottonwood are at potential risk. Transmission and distribution power lines in the area are at continued risk, and water infrastructure to the above communities is also at risk. The Clear Creek Water District Pump house was damaged. Evacuations remain in progress. Thirty residences destroyed, 30 residences damaged and 300 more threatened. CA-SCU Morgan Fire: 3,243 acres, 45% contained. Derum/Patterson, Unified Command. High temperatures, low humidity, offshore winds as well as steep slopes are hampering crews in containing the fire. Slow rate of spread, creeping fire. Areas of the fire experienced an increase in fire activity when fire came in alignment with the wind. Fire made slight movement, with some spotting toward Morgan Territory Road which was contained. Helicopter flight improved mapping accuracy. CA-SRF Corral Complex: 12,295 acres, 79% contained. Expected containment 09/11/2013.Pincha-Tulley /Mendes, Unified Command. The fire continues to smolder inside containment lines. Rolling material is still a concern. Most burning material that does roll out should not cause progression of the fire and will be well inside primary indirect containment lines. There were no night operations due to steep and inaccessible terrain. All fire area closures remain in effect. Significant demobilization has begun. CA-KNF Forks Complex: 36,179 acres, 66% contained. Expected containment 09/15/2013. Herod, ICT3. The Fire area is experiencing warmer temperatures, low RH, and north/east winds that are predicted over the next few days. The fire continues to be fuels and slope driven as general winds are rarely surfacing in the drainage bottoms. No movement of fire outside of the control lines is anticipated. In other Divisions, the fire behavior that was observed was mainly smoldering and creeping in isolated pockets of fuel accumulations well inside containment areas. |
