Glad you guys like my "adventures" aka "getting into a real tight fix" stories. lol
These are simply gorgeous pictures and I'm so glad that Vic shared them. I'm going "ooo" and "ah" consecutively. And I have seen a couple of glaciers (which was on the bucket list) on the Teton Range. Hiked up almost to one, but had to turn back due to changing weather. Now, all the ice I want to see lies on another continent: Antarctica. Of course, if I happened to see a penguin or two...

Oh I love Lin's stories. Rick's too. You are so right... we should take the time to look at things.. this morning I took my daughters and our two dogs to the dog park. We enjoyed watching the dogs... one loves the water as there is a small stream. The other one does not like it at all. But this has nothing to do with geology. lol.. Last Monday though.. we hiked the Ice Age trail in the Holy Hill area north of Milwaukee. It is a National Shrine to Mary and also has glacial moraine formations. It was beautiful but so hilly that I am paying for it now in several body parts. Good training though. Allison

Allison,There are many things around us that are gorgeous if we would take the time to look at them.I like sending the occasional set of photos to Lin to see her reaction. Usually it is so neat I keep my eye out for more!Lin has many interesting short stories an interests beyond geology from her life. She took the time to look. That compares to Rick Bate's wealthy Alaskan "tourons" who could have seen the same thing for their money but didn't take the time to really look after traveling all that distance.Wow, beautiful. These pictures are probably the closest I will ever come to the glacier. Just too cold. But gorgeous. Allison
