Thanks to all the students with great school spirit who participated in Mrs. Green's Chemistry Lab simulation. Thanks to your hard work and diligence we have confirmed that the Vis-à-vis marker wrote the Ransom note and Hank Hawk has been recovered. So, he can now lead our teams to victory in all sporting events this semester.
Homecoming Court :Seniors it is time to sign up for Homecoming Court. Pick up your application during lunch today. You must have a 2.0 GPA and participate in a minimum of two (2) VVHS activities. Applications are due on or before Friday. There will be a mandatory meeting of all candidates on Friday at lunch in the lecture hall. You will have your picture taken at this time for the ballot.
Talent show: Yearbook is hosting the upcoming talent show, and I am looking for some staff members with hidden (or apparent) talent, or a few brave souls to be silly. Can you lip-sync yo Devos "Whip It"? Can you carry on a conversation in wookie? WE WANT YOU! The talent show will be held Thursday, September 25th at 6:30 in the Black Box. Even if you don't want to participate, please support.
Freshman Forum: The first meeting of the year will be Wednesday in Mr. Woods' room A115 during lunch. All freshmen are welcome to attend.
Junior House: There will be a meeting in Mrs. Valdez's room D215 at lunch on Wednesday. All juniors are encouraged to attend.
Senior Cabinet: There will be a meeting in Mrs. Martin's room at lunch on Wednesday. This meeting is open to all seniors.
STEP Team will have practice after school on Wednesday, September 17th at 2:45 p.m. in the hallway outside of the PAC. Practice will end at 3:45 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the STEP Team, please stop by. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Vasquez in room H206.
Literary Magazine With Free Open Mic Night Tickets. Copies of the award winning 2014 Hawkword Moments literary magazine will be on sale at lunch for $5.00. When you purchase your copy you will also receive a free ticket to the September 19 Open Mic Night.
COUNSELING
Attention eCADEMY Students: If you have Mrs. Wells for an eCADEMY English class you must stop by her room in A202 sometime this week during your lunch or after school. She has important information for you.
Juniors may sign-up to take the PSAT thru Sept. 24. The cost is $14. The test will be given on October 15, 2014 from 7:30 to 11 in the Lecture Hall. This is the one chance to qualify for National Merit. See Mrs. Baca-dory in E224 to sign-up.
A representative from UNM will be on campus on Wednesday Sept. 17 to answer questions about admissions, programs, and scholarships. He will meet students during lunch in Rm. E225. Sign up at the Career Center.

Soccer: Girls play on Tuesday against Eldorado at 6:45 at the Soccer Complex
Soccer: Boys play on Tuesday here at 4:30 against Albuquerque High.
