Congratulations to the JROTC Marksmanship team for their performance this past weekend at the Duke City Invite. The cadets had their best performance in program history. They not only took home the overall top team trophy, but out of nearly 200 competitors, they individually placed in each of the top 4 spots. Sean Gray was 4th, Cameron Scholl 3rd, and Darby Pruitt edged out Marisa Lopez as the tournament champion. Ashley Fried, Devin Glascock, Ken Bustos, Sam Elliott and Janelle Trujillo also placed in the top 15 percent. This marks the 4th tournament in a row that the marksmanship team claimed the championship.
Congratulations to the JROTC drill teams for their performance at the Duke City Invite. For the first time, each team placed within the top 3 in a major competition. Out of 22 schools competing, the male color guard, Unarmed Drill and Armed drill each placed 3rd overall. Great job cadets!

GSA: Did you know that The Gay Straight Alliance isn't just for gay people? ANYONE can join. Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) are student clubs that work to improve school climate for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. There will be a Gay Straight Alliance meeting today at lunch in A120 (Ms. Phaneuf's room). New and prospective members along with interested students are always welcome to attend. Today we will be talking about gender identities.
COUNSELING:
The Oklahoma University Club of New Mexico Scholarship Application is now available. Completed applications are due March 31, 2015, for more information contact your Academy Counselor.
ATHLETICS:
Our first home basketball games will be tomorrow night. Girls play at 5:30 and boys play at 7:00. Let's black out the ring of fire tomorrow night. Go Hawks!
