2003: Heavy rains that started on this day and ended on 2.14 produced the following rainfall totals: 10.15" at Forest Falls, 9.75" in Lytle Creek, 8.47" in Lake Arrowhead, 7.6" at Santiago Peak, 6.86" in Mira Loma, 5.15 inches in Wrightwood, 3.95" in Hesperia, 3.87" at Lake Elsinore, 3" at Lindbergh Field.
Local flooding resulted.

2001: A strong winter storm that started on this day and ended on 2.13 brought 2"-5" of rain to Orange County and the western Inland Empire.
1"-2" fell over the rest of the lowlands.
Extensive urban flooding and mud slides resulted.
Trees and power lines were knocked down.
Over a week of heavy snow that started on 2.6 and ended on 2.14 continued on this day.
The snowfall was called "most in a decade."
60" fell at Blue Jay and Mountain High, 24" fell at Snow Summit, and 5"-12" at Apple Valley.
Mountain High reported 10" of new snow on this day.
The roof of an ice rink caved in at Blue Jay.
On this day a waterspout was observed three miles off Laguna Beach and two waterspouts were observed one mile off Ocean Beach.

1999: A period of Santa Ana winds began on 2.10 and ended on 2.12.
Gusts of 85 mph were measured at Rialto.
Gusts to 80 mph were reported from Interstate 8, closing it.

1992: A series of many intense storms over Southern California started on 2.5 and ended on 2.16.
The storms brought a total of 20"+ inches of precipitation to the mountains and 8"-16"+ inches to lower elevations.
Two were killed in an avalanche at Mt. Baldy.
Flash flooding, mud slides, and road closures also occurred.

1988: Record heat hit the region on 2.10 and on this day.
On 2.10 the 92° F reading at San Juan Capistrano was the nation's high for the date, it was 90° F at Lemon Grove, 88° F at LA and Escondido.
On this day it was 83° F in San Diego and 87° F in many locations around San Diego.
It was also 94° F in Escondido, the highest temperature on record for February.
Remarkably, the lowest February temperature on record was set on this same day in 1900.

1973: Heavy rain that began on 2.10 ended on this day.
1"-2" of rainfall hit the coast, 3"-7" fell in the coastal valleys, and up to 12" fell at Mts. Wilson and Baldy.
6" in six hours was recorded at Mt. Wilson on this day.
Flooding and mud slides closed many roads.
Strong storm winds of 57 mph were recorded at Riverside and 46 mph at Newport Beach.
Some 200 trees were uprooted in Pacific Beach alone.

1963: Heavy rain that began on 2.9 ended on this day in Southern California.
Highways and homes were flooded.
High surf caused damage to coastal homes and structures.

1951: Strong thunderstorm struck Fresno dropping 0.42" of rain in just 15 minutes.
A peak gust of 57 mph was also clocked.

1946: Snow flurries were reported in many parts of San Diego.
Icy cold winds in mountains of San Diego County included gusts to 72 mph.

1938: 34" of snow fell at Truckee.

1929: It was 22° F in Riverside, the lowest temperature on record for February, and the third lowest on record.

1929: King City recorded a low temperature of 19° F.

1927: Continual rain that started on this day lasted for six days and ended on 2.17.
21.86" fell at Cuyamaca, 13.1" at El Capitan, 10.7" at El Cajon, 9.54" at La Mesa and 6.33" at San Diego. 8.3" fell in San Bernardino and 5.6" in Riverside.
Heavy warm rains melted mountain snows.
Unprecedented flow occurred on the Whitewater River.
Floods washed out roads and bridges in Thousand Palms and Palm Desert.
Levees were broken and Thermal was inundated.
Several San Diego County dams overtopped, causing widespread flooding downstream.
Bridges and roads were washed out in east San Diego metro area.
Large areas of Long Beach, Fullerton and Anaheim were inundated.
 
1919: 26" of snow fell at Tahoe City.

1901: Bakersfield set its coldest low temperature ever for the month of February, 20° F (also recorded on February 12, 1901).

1901: The morning low temperature at Reno was -6° F.

1900: It was 26° F in Escondido, the lowest temperature on record for February.
Remarkably, the highest February temperature on record was set on this same day in 1988.
