ATTENTION, DRIVER'S EDUCATION STUDENTS! Class will not be held today. Once again, Driver's Ed is cancelled for Monday, February 9!
STUDENT AMBASSADORS will be holding school wide mixer on Thursday, February 12 at lunch in the North Mezzanine. Please join us to connect with your classmates. There will be a special treat given to all that attend.
There will be STEP practice after school this Wednesday, February 11th. Please let Mrs. Vasquez know if you are unable to attend.
DANCE CLUB: Those students interested in the new Hip Hop Dance Club: There will be a mini try-out after school on Wednesday, February 11th . The try-outs will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. We will meet downstairs, right outside of the PAC. If you have any questions, please stop by room H-206 for more information either before or after school.
Hawkword Moments Literary magazine is your literary magazine and the best in New Mexico! We need your creativity to make this year's Lit Mag fabulous. Submission forms and guidelines can be found on Mrs. Rizzardi's VVHS faculty page, outside room H219, or from your friendly, neighborhood English teacher. The submission deadline has been extended to February 20th.
MATH NHS Math NHS will have a meeting today during lunch in room H217
Yearbook is having a sweetheart of a deal on senior ads! The early January prices have been extended thru Feb. 14th. Order forms are outside the activities office.
HAWK BAND How would you like to give your teacher a heart attack and not get in trouble? You heard me! A classroom door covered with hearts. What about your friends or sweetheart. Wouldn't they be surprised if they saw their locker full of hearts? This will be the best surprise ever! And it's so easy all you have to do is pre-order your heart attack from the Hawk Band for only 1-3 dollars and the band will do the rest. You can order them outside E and F hall today at lunch. Don't forget to bring their locker and classroom number.
THE ART CLUB Are you creative? Good at painting and drawing? Do you love fashion? Music? Sports? We need creative talented VVHS students for this year's Van's Custom Culture Contest. Want to learn more? Stop by the art room G113 on Tuesday at lunch for more information. THE ART CLUB will be selling Valentine's Day flowers for $1 at lunch this week in Room G113.
BOWLING VVHS bowling team members - please listen to this very important message. The last tournament of the season is this week. You must be at Wednesday practice or notify Coach Hampel if you wish to finish the season up on a team. Also you must attend Wednesday or Friday practices to notify Coach if you will be going to the awards luncheon. If not in touch with Coach you will forfeit any awards that maybe rightfully yours. We had 5 bowlers attend the senior tournament this past Saturday. Jacob Muller and Joey Wright ended up tied for 9th place and each won $150.00. Dontae Ruiz ($200.00) finished second which is the best finish by a VVHS male bowler in the Upper Division with a tie at 7th place. Finally, Kyleigh Moya finished 4th place in the Lower Division for another best by a VVHS FEMALE bowler and earned $300.00 in scholarship.
COUNSELING:
CNM Onsite visit is scheduled for today during lunch in computer Lab E202. This Onsite Admissions visit is if you are wanting to enroll for Fall 2015. Please bring your social security number or CNM ID number (if available).
ATHLETICS
GOLF Students who are interested in trying out for the Spring Golf Team must come by room A-204 to see Coach Cota. The Golf Season begins on February 23rd, and there are a limited number of spots remaining on the boys and girls team. Students must see Coach Cota in A-204 to obtain tryout information and secure a tee time for tryouts on February 23rd.
BOYS TENNIS: Tryouts begin today, if interested you will need to have a physical form complete before participating. For more information see Mr. Roybal in H131
BOYS BASKETBALL plays Rio Rancho Tuesday at 7
GIRLS BASKETBALL plays Rio Rancho on Tuesday at 7 in the ring of fire.
