They did that for construction last year. 
Friggin

mess, added hours

to the trip.  The alternative is Santa
Barbara (add 3

hours) or 58

(can't take the load and VERY slow).

mudslide near the top of the

Grapevine

along the I-5 that has the

highway

closed for a 40 mile

stretch.   The

local news is not giving

much info other

than that.   This is a bit

surprising

considering the rainfall

totals for this

storm were very low.   

Either way,
