Notes:		On this date in 1997 in the San Gabriel Mountains behind Glendora a hiker having just used a primitive latrine believed the most sanitary and environmentally-friendly course of action was to burn their wipes. The ensuing fire burned up and over the San Gabriel Mountains jumping Highway 2 at one point and consuming 18,186 acres. Some local wags christened the incident the "Charmin Fire".
